INTRODUCTION
Howard Hamilton (HH) has been with the Orchard Hill Police Department for almost ten years. He loves Patrol and working the streets. Orchard Hill is not a crime-ridden community. It is a very well-managed community and has been so for decades; a cosmopolitan community with strong business, industry, and residential foundations.
While the community is proud of its Police Department, the city is also proud of its libraries, school district, public works, and business centers. The streets and alleys are clean, trees and common areas are maintained. Graffiti is cleaned up within 24 hours or sooner. The local newspaper, The Daily Wind, while sometimes critical of some City decisions, for the most part, is supportive of the Council and Police Department, many times lauding praise for OHPD’s penchant for “catching the bad guys.” Howard Hamilton is one of the many who take pride in“catching the bad guy”.
HH is a family man and prides himself on getting off on time, catching a quick meal or cup of coffee, not getting injured, and keeping his uniform clean. He looks for overtime when it fits his schedule but will take “comp time” to spend more time at home.
Officer Hamilton is the 99% of law enforcement. Spend a few moments with HH and get to know ‘us’.
